Trunki on TV: Pocket Money Pitch

Whether you’re designing, doodling or dreaming, it’s never too soon to know how to protect your ideas. ¬†Just like Trunki,¬†more and more designers and businesses are finding their products the victim of copycats.

Further Reading – Design & IP

With Intellectual Property Law increasingly in the spotlight, many lawyers and designers are working together to discuss and promote the importance of protecting your designs. At the recent London Design Festival in September 2015, Rob Law, alongside Richard Joseph of JosephJoseph and Martin Darbyshire of Tangerine, worked with London based law firm Gowling WLG to do just that.

You can find Podcasts from the Design Festival and links to articles covering key aspects of¬†design protection¬†on Gowling WLG’s dedicated Designs for Life page; a one stop shop for everything you need to know about protecting your valuable designs, from conception to marketing and beyond!

There is also a really useful booklet containing all the information available to download.

In March 2013, Trunki was awarded £4m investment from the Business Growth Fund, which received extensive press coverage.

The Telegraph reported the investment in April 2013, in which it summarises the key details of the investment.

Bristol Business¬†also covered the story in April 2013 in more detail, including information about the company’s trading, export and manufacturing plans, as well as comments from key figures in Trunki’s route to investment.
